He completed his early education in Lahore and graduated from Islamia College in 1974. Although he aspired to pursue a master’s degree in Psychology, familial responsibilities led him to join the family business in furniture and building materials. Despite his business commitments, Mughal nurtured a passion for writing, initially dabbling in poetry and composing Naats recited by prominent Naat Khawans.

Tahir Javed Mughal‘s literary journey commenced with his first story, “Khilash,” published in the monthly “Adab Araz.” He subsequently contributed to “Nawai Waqt,” translating English essays about historical events under the series “Tareekhi Hadsat.” His foray into novel writing gained momentum with the serialized novel “Abaqa” in “Sayyar Digest,” which garnered significant popularity and established his reputation as a novelist.
